RAPID PROTOTYPING IN SPACE

Rapid prototyping is an automated technique for rapidly building objects of virtually any shape. Although current commercial techniques are largely limited to building with wax or plastics, several methods are under development for creating objects out of metal. One of the most promising of these, particularly for use in building structures in space, is metallic droplet deposition. This method allows construction of complex beehive-like structures with numerous internal cavities.
